GOTS
In this era where environmental problems caused by lack of decisions or wrong decisions in the past haunt us, the development and manufacture, in this case of textiles, under parameters that are in line with the environment becomes paramount. Thus, many national and international organizations and associations are in charge of the study of manufacturing processes and final products according to different sustainability parameters. Supratex is in the process of obtaining GOTS certification which follows the Organic Textile Standard at international level originated by four recognized member organizations: OTA (USA), IVN (Germany), Soil Association (UK) and JOCA (Japan). A textile product labeled “organic” grade GOTS must contain at least 95% certified organic fibers, while those labeled “made with organic material” must contain no less than 70% certified organic fibers.
GRS
Supratex is also in the process of obtaining the GRS certificate granted since 2011 by the Textile Exchange organization, which sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions. Supratex is developing a line of articles with the ECOSEA label, which is woven with yarn obtained from the recycling of plastic bottles collected from the sea, thus contributing to the cleanliness of the seas. Supratex, has a commitment to recycle used clothing, through which the used clothing is removed from the customer and it is guaranteed that it will be used in the generation of yarn, which will be used in the manufacture of our products. Thus guaranteeing a circular useful life of the garment and contributing greatly to the non-generation of waste.
RFID
By incorporating RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology into textiles, each garment can be identified, and its location and durability can be tracked.
This tool analyzes real-time traceability of textiles through radio frequency using tags or labels that can withstand industrial washing processes, along with software that processes and analyzes millions of readings.
This represents a further step in digitization to enhance the control and management of textile assets by enabling identification, location tracking, traceability, and inventory management of garments.
Ecolinens
Our commitment to establish a circular economy in hotel lingerie and contribute to the fight for a more sustainable and healthy planet.
This proposal consists of obtaining, from the lingerie collected for disposal, the fibers necessary to convert it back into yarn, which will be used to weave the new lingerie acquired by the establishment. When this lingerie is no longer in use, it will be collected again and the process will start all over again. In this way a complete circular economy is established.
This initiative is really important to improve the climate footprint on the planet, representing an extreme sustainable advance. This simple gesture represents a saving of great magnitude. Thus, for every kilo of linen generated, 2.48m² of cultivated land is no longer occupied, 3,485 liters of water are saved, 6.77 kw/h of electricity are no longer consumed and the emission of 1.62 kilos of CO2 is avoided.
Technology in garments
SUPRATEX has a series of fabric finishes that can make garment maintenance easier, such as EasyIron, to make ironing easier. Water-repellent to repel stains, and even Anti-insect to repel the presence of insects in the room where the garment is located. SUPRATEX has developed ANTI-FLEA mattress covers, through their use their presence and proliferation in the room is avoided.
